For our season finale, we’re bringing dancer-DJs Gia Fu x YiuYiu 瑶瑶 back together for a Chinese x Afro-Latin music crossover to close us out for the summer!

A dear friend and collaborator of Chinatown Records, Gia Fu electrifies dancefloors across the world with the music and history of salsa. Pulling from the ever-growing archive of the Chinatown Records project, YiuYiu 瑶瑶 is back with some of her favorite Latin-influenced Canto- and Mandopop records and CDs inherited from her family and neighbors. Together, Gia Fu x YiuYiu 瑶瑶 bring the heat of mambo, cha-cha-cha, and salsa music that have swept dancefloors from Shanghai to Cuba to Hong Kong to NYC.

Remember to bring along any special garments and textile remnants for this season's interactive art installation, With Flying Colors by Annika Cheng. These recycled textiles will be incorporated into a series of banner flags that will be flown over Corky Lee Way during future block parties. With Flying Colors seeks to honor Chinatown garment workers and the people who love and wear the clothing that speaks to the world about who we are.

This is a block party for the whole family! Rain or shine ~ let us know you’re coming by signing up for free. See you there 💃🕺
