Chinatown Nights, featuring Treya Lam & Yellow Pearl

Announcing a special program for our upcoming Chinatown Nights: multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Treya Lam will perform songs from the song book and art publication, Yellow Pearl. "In 1972, the collective known as Basement Workshop in Chinatown, NYC published the art book Yellow Pearl. It was originally a project meant to illustrate the music of Chris Iijima, Nobuko Miyamoto, and Charlie Chin, but grew into a 57-page compilation of writing, art, and music by over 30 Asian American artists."  Read about Yellow Pearl here or watch a recent talk hosted by the Smithsonian here.

We're excited to continue this recurring incubation program to support API vendors, attract foot traffic into Chinatown during weekday evenings, and bring the arts to underutilized public spaces.

Chinatown Nights is a free ticketed event.
